Charlotte Pop Fest is a multi-day power pop music festival that will celebrate the life of Charles Darwin and science. The year 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book On the Origin of Species, and the Year of Science.

Charlotte Pop Fest is proud to announce WLBancroft Productions Inc. and Charlotte Film Festival as partners. The 4th annual Charlotte Film Festival will take place September 21-27, 2009 and the 2nd annual Charlotte Pop Fest will take place September 24-26, 2009. Both events will take place at EpiCentre in Uptown Charlotte.

Proceeds from Charlotte Pop Fest will benefit The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason & Science to support rational and scientific education at all ages, and to oppose the subversion of scientific education, for example by the well-financed efforts to teach pseudoscience in science classes. This includes advance tickets sold through the Charlotte Pop Fest Web site; tickets sold at the door during the event; this year’s edition of the compilation CD; and any other event-specific merchandise like t-shirts, posters, etc.
